PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescence endoscope and a probe device for the fluorescence endoscope, which is capable of preventing various factors from affecting the judgement of a lesion and also capable of detecting a microscopic early cancer in the mucosal layer or in the submucosal layer precisely. SOLUTION: The fluorescence endoscope emits excited light 3 from the distal end of an insertion section and detects fluorescence from a living body S. The fluorescence endoscope has an excitation light source for emitting the excited light 3, an excited light emitting optical fiber 11 for guiding and emitting the excited light 3 to and from the distal end of the insertion section, a plurality of fluorescence detection optical fibers 12 and 13 for receiving fluorescence 4<SB>1</SB>and 4<SB>2</SB>from the living body which are arranged on a distal end face of the distal end of the insertion section and are spaced by identical distances D from the excited light emitting optical fiber 11, a detection means for acquiring spectrum information of each of the fluorescence 4<SB>1</SB>and 4<SB>2</SB>received by the fluorescence detection optical fibers 12 and 13, and a comparing means for comparing the spectrum information of each fluorescence detected by the detection means.
