PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coil device which can prevent the generation of a crack in an insulating sheathing member even if a desire of miniaturization and thinning is satisfied. SOLUTION: The coil device 1 includes a core 3, a coil 5 provided on the periphery of the core, and an insulating sheathing member 7 covering the core and the coil. The core has a winding core 17 which winds a winding of the coil, and a pair of collars 13 and 15 formed at both ends of the winding core. The sectional surface of the winding core has a shape having swelled parts 69 on a pair of surfaces 65 and 67 opposed in a rectangular shape.
