A composition for ceramic substrate whose simultaneous firing with a low-melting metal can be effected, which composition exhibits excellent dielectric characteristics even in several dozen GHz band high frequency zone. There is provided a composition for ceramic substrate comprised mainly of a glass of the formula aB2 O3-bLa2O3-cZnO wherein the molar ratio (a,b,c) falls within the region defined by point A (0.4, 0.595, 0.005), point B (0.4, 0.25, 0.35), point C (0.52, 0.01, 0.47), point D (0.9, 0.005, 0.095) and point E (0.9, 0.09, 0.01) of ternary composition diagram. |
