PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover device capable of preventing the noise generated inside a housing from leaking through a through hole and precluding intrusion of foreign matter into the housing through the through hole. SOLUTION: The arrangement includes the housing 20 having a cylindrical portion and also a spiral cable case 41, and the cylindrical portion and the spiral cable case 41 are furnished with engagement parts 48 and 49 in positions apart in the axial direction centering on the through hole 46, wherein the engagement parts 48 and 49 are furnished with abutting surfaces 51 and 52 over the whole circumference at a right angle to the axial direction and also with fit-in grooves 50 and 53, The invention includes a cover 47 made of a resilient material and is furnished with a cylindrical part 47a put on the cylindrical portion of the housing 20 and deformable resiliently in the axial direction, and at the ends of the cylindrical part 47a of the cover 47, a pair of engaging surfaces 54 and 55 to be engaged with the abutting surfaces 51 and 52 of the engagement parts 48 and 49 are formed over the whole circumference in positions apart more than the spacing L between the two abutting surfaces 51 and 52 when the cover 47 is in the free state, while a pair of engaging projections 56 and 57 to be fitted in the grooves 50 and 53 are formed over the whole circumference.
