<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display, wherein the production of a moire pattern is suppressed without decreasing front luminance. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display 100 is equipped with: a reflective electrode 8 as a first periodical structure comprising a light shielding material layer having periodical apertures 12; and a prism sheet 5 as a second periodical structure. The pitch P<SB>L</SB>and width W<SB>L</SB>of the apertures 12 and the pitch P<SB>P</SB>of the second periodical structure define A<SB>n</SB>=2W<SB>L</SB>/P<SB>L</SB>×sin(nπW<SB>L</SB>/P<SB>L</SB>)/(nπW<SB>L</SB>/P<SB>L</SB>), wherein n is a natural number, satisfying A<SB>n</SB>≤0.05 and (2n-1)/(2×P<SB>L</SB>)<1/P<SB>P</SB><(2n+1)/(2×P<SB>L</SB>). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
