PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the degree of freedom in system design by mounting an intermediate communication control circuit efficient for slave devices allowed to be constituted by various constitutional methods. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus comprising a solid state imaging device (501), a plurality of processing parts for processing output signals from the solid state imaging device (501), one or more slave devices (502, 503) for inputting operation mode information in order to set operation modes in respective processing parts, and an intermediate communication control circuit (506) for outputting the operation mode information in order to set the operation mode in each slave device in accordance with a request from a central processing unit (507) is provided.
