PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep high security, while making it possible to perform a setting change from an external device, concerning communication equipment having a function of processing a command in response to an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol). SOLUTION: The communication equipment comprises an SNMP daemon 130 for performing a processing corresponding to the received command in response to the SNMP; SNMP libraries 121, 142 for converting the command received from a PC 20 into an SNMP command to be processed by the SNMP daemon 130; and a request source determining part 131 for identifying whether or not the command received by the SNMP daemon 130 is the command which is generated by the SNMP library 121 or 142. An authority confirming part 132 changes the content of the processing by the SNMP daemon 130, based on the determination result of the request source determining part 131.
