<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure safety by controlling the overlapped amount of an extension boom by a machine having the extension boom. <P>SOLUTION: The machine 10 comprises the boom 15 fitted to the body 11 of the machine at or near one end thereof. The boom 15 comprises a load handling tool 19 at the other end, and at least two sections 16 and 17. One section 17 of these sections is extended and retracted in the other section 16. At least one extension actuator 30 controls the limit of the extension. The boom 15 can be moved by at least one lift actuator 21 to move between a down position and an up position. In this method, the relative extension of the boom sections 16 and 17 is prevented from occurring so as to provide the minimum overlap larger than the minimum overlap allowed when the boom 15 is set at the up position between the boom sections 16 and 17 when the boom is set at the down position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
