Preparation of bituminous binder (A) for constructions, civil engineering layers and/or coatings comprises adding a treatment agents (phosphorous containing compound (I) and/or phosphoric anhydride (P2O5)) to the bituminous or bituminous mixture at 150-220 (preferably 160-200)[deg]C; agitating the treatment agent with the bituminous or bituminous mixture at 150-220 (preferably 160-200)[deg]C; and recuperating. Preparation of bituminous binder (A) for constructions, civil engineering layers and/or coatings comprises adding a treatment agent (phosphorous containing a compound of formula Hn+2PnO3n+1 (where n is greater than 1) and/or phosphoric anhydride (P2O5)) to the bituminous or bituminous mixture at 150-220 (preferably 160-200)[deg]C; agitating the treatment agent with the bitumen or bitumen mixture at 150-220 (preferably 160-200)[deg]C; and recuperating.
