A drinks bottle filling machine feeds bottles through a sequence of processes in which they are cleaned, sterilised, filled and sealed. The filling machine incorporates fittings e.g. filling tubes that are exchanged when switching from one product to another. Each process station e.g. filling station is allocated a number of interchangeable tools e.g. filling heads that are commensurate with the respective automated operation. The re-tooling process is automated and the change simultaneous at each station.
