<p>Provided are a moving direction detector that is more compact, whose production costs and material costs are low, and that has a simple movable part and a simple regulating part, a moving direction detecting method, and a moving body mounted with the moving direction detector. The moving direction detector comprises a housing for shielding external light, a light source section for radiating light into the housing, a reflector secured in the housing so as to be oscillatingly movable in the light source direction and reflecting the light from the light source section, and a detecting section disposed adjacent to the light source in the housing and detecting the light reflected from the reflector. The moving direction of the reflector is detected based on increase/decrease in the amount of light detected by the detecting section.</p> |
