PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stepping motor drive method which excites respective windings of a stepping motor with a plurality of windings, according to a prescribed procedure with stepping pulses for driving the motor and can avoid uneven rotation. SOLUTION: This stepping motor drive method gradually changes the frequency dividing ratio of a system clock according to a prescribed procedure. Stepping pulse frequency information in a constant revolving speed period is inputted to an exciting signal generating unit before the start; and according to the inputted information, the exciting signal generating unit sets an excitation step repetition frequency, so as to have the integer ratio between the repetition frequency and the stepping pulse frequency in a constant revolving speed period. Then the start and stoppage of the stepping motor is repeated with fixed excitation step repetition frequency. |
