<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display giving high-contrast display in both of transmissive display and reflective display. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display has a structure that: a reflective display region 33 and a transmissive display region 34 are formed in one pixel region; a reflecting layer 35 is formed on an array substrate 20 in the reflective display region 33; an inclined region 18 where the thickness of the liquid crystal layer 50 continuously changes is formed between the transmissive display region 34 and the reflective display region 33; the edge end of the inclined region 18 near the transmissive display region is laid within a flat region of the reflecting layer 35; a first color filter 44 is formed in the reflective display region 33; a second color filter 45 having a more intense coloring degree than the first color filter 44 is formed in the inclined region 18 and the transmissive display region 34; and the first and second color filters 44, 45 may be superposed within a flat region of the inclined region 18. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
