<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a unit for feeding strips for a wrapping material and cutting the strips at different lengths. <P>SOLUTION: In operation of the unit, the strips (3) are held on a drum (13) and advanced, divided into pieces (2) by a first cutter assembly (19), then arranged so as to be nicked along a lateral tearing line 21 on each piece (2) by a second cutter assembly (45), and further arranged so as to be nicked along a longitudinal tearing line 22 which is to be combined with the lateral tearing line (21) in order to form a piece (2) removable portion (24), by a third cutting assembly (48). According to the structure of the unit, the first, second, and third cutter assemblies (19, 45, 48) are all operated in cooperation with the drum (13). Further, the second and third cutter assemblies (45, 48) are firmly coupled to each other, and they are incorporated in a rotary device (37) in a manner providing an L-shaped cutting edge in a station (20) having a striking surface (50) provided by the drum (13). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
