PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium-positioning sensor assembly, an image formation device with the same assembly and a method for using the same. SOLUTION: The medium-positioning sensor assembly is equipped with a mechanism 114 moving forward and backward along with a first spindle in upper part of a medium 102 which moves forward along with a second one perpendicular to the first spindle, and a medium-positioning sensor 204 which is arranged on the mechanism 114 and detects the position of the medium 102 toward the mechanism 114 in alignment with at least either the first spindle and the second one.
