PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device by which a coating amount of a sealant in the manufacturing process of a liquid crystal display device can be appropriately controlled. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device includes a sealant application step of applying a sealant 5 on at least one of a pair of glass substrates 2, 31, an adhesion step of adhering the pair of glass substrates 2, 31 through the sealant 5, and a liquid crystal filling step of filling the gap between the pair of substrates with a liquid crystal, these steps consecutively carried out, wherein prior to the sealant application step, a check mark 3 for sealing width after application is formed on at least one of the glass substrates 2, 31 so as to check the sealing width of the sealant after the sealant application step.
