<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing program, an image processing method, an image processing apparatus, and a recording medium for obtaining images with good face conditions from a group of successive images at reduced cost without requiring manual operation. <P>SOLUTION: The image processing method includes a face image extraction step for extracting images that capture the face of a subject from a plurality of continuously captured images; a face direction detection step for detecting the direction of the face from the images extracted in the face image detection step; a first selection step for selecting the images that capture the face facing forwards or approximately forwards according to the direction of the face detected in the face direction detection step; an eye condition detection step for obtaining information on whether the eyes are open or closed according to the face images selected in the first selection step; a second selection step for selecting the images where the eyes are adequately open from the images selected in the first selection step, based on the information on whether the eyes are open or closed that is obtained in the first selection step; and a storage step for storing the images selected in the second selection step in a storage means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
