PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous electrodeposition coating capable of forming a coating film excellent in any of heat resistance, insulating properties, safety, moisture resistance, and edge-covering properties. SOLUTION: This aqueous electrodeposition coating is prepared by mixing a resin composition with an acidic neutralizer, such as an organic acid and an inorganic acid, together with water, wherein the resin composition contains polyimide particles in an amount of 5-80 pts.wt. and a hydrophilic cationic polymer in an amount of 15-80 pts.wt., and preferably, further contains a solution of a polyimide and/or its prepolymer in an organic solvent in an amount of 5-80 pts.wt., when converted into a solid content. The coating film 13 excellent in any of the heat resistance, the insulating properties, the moisture resistance, and the edge-covering properties is formed on a metallic surface of a rectangular wire 10, etc., by conducting electrodeposition coating with the aqueous electrodeposition coating.
