<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for reducing the power consumption of an imaging apparatus provided with an illumination device having the small number of components and utilizing small-sized and thin light emitting diodes, that can illuminate at all times so as to attain continuous photographing of an object without a problem even at a dark place. <P>SOLUTION: After the end of temporary recording of image data (S9), a display device switches display on a monitor into display of the temporarily recorded image data (S12).
