PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable backing in a foot drive type traveling vehicle advanced by alternately stepping right and left pedals. SOLUTION: A driven device 12 for transmitting advancing drive force by a pedaling device 11 to a driving wheel 3 via a winding transmission belt 13 is provided with a terminal gear part 30 which is arranged in an axle 32 of the driving wheel 3 and around which the winding transmission belt 13 is wound and an intermediate gear part 31 engaged with an intermediate part of the winding transmission belt 13. One of the both gear parts 30, 31 is constituted as a left one way clutch part and the other is constituted as a right one way clutch part. A backing mode switch part 40 for bringing power transmission of at least one of the clutch parts into the completely disengaged state when backing drive is applied to the driving wheel 3 is provided.
