PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To save labor for maintenance, management, inspection or repair by preventing a mechanism constituting a driving system from being dipped in water and from contact or sliding each other in water. SOLUTION: This sludge recovery apparatus comprises a raking board 2 corresponding to the width of a pit bottom 10 of a settling pit 1, and a moving mechanism 3 provided at an upper part of the pit 1 and moving the raking board 2 from one end of the pit 1 to the other end along the pit bottom 10. The moving mechanism 3 includes a frame 4 suspending the raking board 2 from the upper side, a supporting mechanism part 5 movably supporting both ends of the frame 4, and a driving mechanism part 6 reciprocating the frame 4 in the longitudinal direction of the pit 1. The driving mechanism part 6 moves the frame 4 along a circulating track from one end of the pit 1 to the other end in an outward trip passage, and returns the frame 4 to the one end by moving the frame 4 in the opposite direction to the outward passage along a returning passage of a circulation track set higher than the outward trip passage.
