PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of operating a dust collector permitting continuous operation of the collector, even when the composition of dust in a combustible gas varies with the varying composition of waste, by preventing rising of the base differential pressure of the filter as effectively as possible. SOLUTION: The method comprises filtering a combustible gas generated from waste with a filter device at 250-500°C to remove dust. When the differential pressure of the filter device exceeds a predetermined value, a powder containing high-temperature stable particles is blown into the collector.
