PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an engine drive control depending on starting methods to improve startability regardless of the starting methods, in the drive control of an engine using self-starting and kick starting. SOLUTION: Based on turning on or turning off of the self-starter switch and existence of a crank signal, it is determined whether the engine is started by the self-starting or the kick starting (S101, S105). When the self-starter switch is turned on and the self-starting is performed, a starter relay is turned on (S102), and a start control appropriate for the self-starting, and a fuel injection device is controlled according to the self-starting (S103). On the other hand, when the self-starter switch is not turned on and the crank signal is detected, the kick starting is determined, a start control appropriate for the kick starting is started, and the fuel injection device is controlled according to the kick starting (S106).
