PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To synchronize the sample cycle of a PLC module and a communication cycle between an option module and a control unit by surely transferring data between the controller and the control unit without adding any restriction to the number of mounting of the option module. SOLUTION: A first CPU generates a sampling cycle based on a first interruption signal, and generates a second interruption signal when the sample cycle is generated. An option module receives the second interruption signal, and stores data set in a shared memory by a PLC module in an internal memory, and generates a data storage completion signal. A communication cycle generating circuit receives the first interruption signal, and generates a communication cycle for executing the data transmission/reception of the option module and the control unit synchronously with the first interruption signal, and generates a third interruption signal. A second CPU receives the third interruption signal, and calculates and transmits data to be transmitted to the control unit, and the PLC module receives the data storage completion signal of the option module, and executes a user program.
