PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus wherein an excellent output image can be obtained using a vibration-proofing scheme selectively as needed, and convenience for users is improved. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus performs photographing using an imaging device 4 and includes an image generating means which operates in a first mode during which image compositing processing is performed for compositing a plurality of images acquired sequentially to generate an output image, and in a second mode during which the output image is generated without performing image compositing processing, and a control means 101 for selecting either the first mode or the second mode in accordance with a photographing magnification.
