PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improvement method for improving soil by constructing an underground consolidated body along an arbitrary path inclusive of a curved portion or a region extending in the horizontal direction, in a manner dispensing with drilling of a breakthrough in the ground. SOLUTION: According to the soil improvement method, a drill hole h is drilled by means of an excavation rod 2 having flexibility, and an annular casing 4 is inserted into the drill hole h along the same while housing therein the excavation rod 2 having flexibility, by excavating the ground G around the excavation rod 2. Then the excavation rod 2 is drawn out, and a solidifier injection means 5 is inserted into the annular casing 4 to inject cutting fluid in the same.
