RECEIVER AND GAIN CONTROL METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid distortion of a signal outputted from a high frequency band gain control amplifier by providing a receiver and gain control method for decreasing a gain of a high frequency band while taking a neighboring signal level into account.

SOLUTION: A mixer 130 extracts a desired signal that is a signal of a desired band, and a neighboring signal adjacent to the desired signal from a received signal, a gain control unit 220 inputs the desired signal and the neighboring signal and measures a level of the desired signal and a level of the neighboring signal and when the level of the desired signal is higher than a first threshold value and the level of the neighboring signal is higher than a second threshold value, a gain of a high frequency band of the received signal is reduced.
