A METHOD FOR SILICUM PURIFICATION

A method for silicum purification involves incorporation of solvent metal into the melt, heating the melt, making temperature gradient along the crucible and crystallization of silicum on the seed crystal immersed into the melt. The silicum is incorporated into the melt of gallium (solvent metal) by fixing silicum on the crucible bottom while heating the melt up to 800-1000 DEGREE C, making the temperature gradient of 4-8 DEGREE C/cm and crystallization of silicum at a rate of 1 kg per 3.5 hours.
