PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electromagnet which has a large magnetic attracting force by preventing an untended projection from being formed on a metal layer made to cover a magnetic member such as a magnetic path main body and an end magnetic path. SOLUTION: Respective magnetic members such as the magnetic path main body 2 and an upper end magnetic path 3 constituting a magnetic path have corners inter-member contacts beveled into curved surfaces 20 and 21, and surfaces of the respective magnetic members are coated with metal layers 22 made of nickel by electroplating. Consequently, the inter-member contact parts of the respective magnetic members come into surface contact. The curved surfaces 20 and 21 preferably have, for example,≥0.8 mm radii.
