PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of obtaining an image with high sharpness wherein the roughness of the image is properly suppressed in response to positions of pixels. SOLUTION: An image quality correction apparatus provided with a correction signal generating section 12 for generating a correction signal R for emphasizing an edge relating to a spatial change in a level of a luminance signal L which an image includes by each pixel and for adjusting a level of the correction signal R generated by the correction signal generating section 12 to summate the resulting signal R to the luminance signal L includes: a level adjustment means 13 for adjusting the level of the correction signal R generated by the correction signal generating section 12 depending on the position of the pixel; and a summation section 15 for summating a correction signal R' whose level is adjusted by the level adjustment means 13 to the luminance signal L.
