<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a fluorine-containing elastomer by which the polymerization rate is extremely increased regardless of a small amount of a polymerization initiator by carrying out an iodine transfer polymerization under high pressure, and which has high productivity equal to a method not using the iodine transfer polymerization; and to provide the fluorine-containing elastomer produced by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The method for producing the fluorine-containing elastomer by a batch-type copolymerization method carried out under a condition of ≥0.95 reduced temperature and ≥0.80 reduced pressure of critical constants calculated by using a Peng-Robinson equation from the critical temperature and the critical pressure of each monomer in the vapor phase part in a reaction vessel, and a composition ratio thereof involves copolymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated compound containing at least one kind of a fluoroolefin and a compound represented by general formula (2) and/or a compound represented by general formula (3): CF<SB>2</SB>=CF(CX<SP>1</SP>X<SP>2</SP>)<SB>p</SB>(CX<SP>3</SP>X<SP>4</SP>)<SB>q</SB>I in the presence of an iodine compound represented by general formula (1): R<SB>f</SB><SP>1</SP>×I<SB>X</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
