<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle light controlling device capable of lighting up vehicle lights properly according to the surrounding situation of the vehicle depending upon its running condition without providing a mechanism to move the optical axis of a camera. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle light controlling device 1 is equipped with a controller 2 to perform automatic lighting of the vehicle lights 7, wherein the controller 2 controls the lighting-up of the lights 7 on the basis of the image in the vehicle advancing direction photographed by the camera 3. The controller 2 determines one point on the image from the characteristic point thereon, shifts the monitoring region with that point determined assumed as the vehicle advancing direction, and thereby controls the lighting-up of the lights 7 on the basis of the brightness in the monitoring region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
