PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method which makes it possible to obtain good color images stably for a long period of time. SOLUTION: The image forming device has a process of electrostatically charging the surface of an electrostatic latent image carrier, a process of of forming an electrostatic latent image thereon, and a process of developing the electrostatic latent image by toner, wherein the toner image formed on the electrostatic latent image carrier is transferred onto a transfer member in a transfer process and then the electrostatic latent image carrier is cleaned so as to be ready for the next formation of the electrostatic latent image and the toner image is transferred to the final transfer member and thereafter the toner image is fixed by applying heat and pressure thereto by a fixing process. In the above image forming method, the toner is composed of color toners of four colors; yellow, magenta, cyan, and black, each containing at least a binder resin, an external additive, and a colorant. The toner of the each color contains the external additive composed of a combination of at least silica and titanium oxide and the silica/titanium oxide ratio of the toners of the one to the three colors lower in the electrostatic charge quantity prior to the addition of the external additive is greater than the ratio of the toners of the remaining three colors to the one color.
