PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a waste liquid recovery method, a liquid jet device and a cartridge set that permit the downsizing of the device or the cartridge. SOLUTION: The printer has a recording head and a maintenance mechanism to suck ink in the recording head. A plurality of cartridges C mounted on the printer each has a first storage section to store ink to be supplied to the recording head and a second storage section S2 to store waste ink discharged from the maintenance mechanism. A first cartridge C1 from among the cartridges C, the resistance of a cartridge side channel R from a waste ink introduction section 37 to an air communication hole 46 to externally discharge air in a waste ink storage section 45 through the waste ink storage section 45 is smaller than the resistance of a cartridge side channel R of the other cartridge C.
