PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out automatic restoration control of a malfunctioned microcomputer without disturbing viewing of a television program by a user by discriminating whether the automatic restoration control is to be executed by taking information of a television view state by the user into account in addition to information of a system state of the presence of the malfunctioned microcomputer in a television system configured with a plurality of microcomputers. SOLUTION: The television system comprising a plurality of the microcomputers 101, 102 is provided with a microcomputer configured of: a detection section 103 for detecting malfunction of an optional microcomputer; a discrimination section 104 for discriminating a view state of a television receiver; and a reset section 105 for automatically resetting the malfunctioned microcomputer on the basis of results of the detection section 103 and the discrimination section 104.
