PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable marking ball shooting device of simple structure capable of reducing a size and a weight, while realizing highly precise shooting for a marking ball, and an identification system capable of discovering and identifying easily an identifying object. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a main body part 10 formed with a gas passage 11a from one end to the other end, a holder part 20 for storing a gas container filled with a compressed gas, and attached to a one end side of a main body, and a barrel part 30 charged with the marking balls 33 and attached to the other end side of the main body part. A piston of an opening means for the gas cylinder, and an operation lever 12 for the piston are provided in the main body part, the gas passage of the main body part is sealed with the gas holder part and the barrel part, the compressed gas in the gas cylinder is filled in the gas passage of the main body part when the gas cylinder is opened by an operation of the operation lever, and the marking ball charged in the barrel part is shot toward an outside of the barrel part, by pressure of the filled compressed gas.
