IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

An image processing apparatus can fully utilize both the merits of convenience and visibility of paper and a merit of multifunctionality of a calculator, and further can edit, by trial and error, images in an efficient manner of operation even by use of paper medium without need to take in all of images in advance. The image processing apparatus comprises an image pickup part for electrically taking in an image on paper by use of an optical sensor; an image editing part for executing image editions, such as clipping of partial images and scaling-up and scaling-down of images; an operation input part for accepting operator's instructionsrelated to such image processings; an image storage part for storing images; and an image display part for displaying the images stored in the image storage part. The image pickup part and image display part are integrated with each other to form an image pickup/display part, by implementing an image display function on a transparent planer surface and further arranging a plurality of optical sensors thereon in a plane. This allows the user to have an operational feeling that does not recognize the difference between the paper and the electronic medium and that meets the human intuition.
