A method for transporting sheet(s) of fabric in a loom, using a runner driven by an electric motor and rigidly connected to the sheet to be moved, involves use of a supply potential which has a higher nominal value than the conventional value and (with deduction of loss of potential via connection points, leads, working semiconductors, noise filters, choking coils etc.) is available at the terminals of the electric motor.
