PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively culturing coral by utilizing two dimensional capsule type growth of sedentary coral. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the method for proliferation of reef-building coral by taking root on a substrate comprising anchoring a daughter strain of the coral on a supporting axis, providing a base for coat having inclined face on the periphery, attaching the daughter strain with supporting axis on the base for coat, breeding and growing the daughter strain in a state in contact with the base for coat and set the coral to grow by three dimensionally piling up the skeleton of daughter strain on the upper part and two dimensionally covering base for coat at the root part.
