<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing metal titanium in which the productivity is improved and metal titanium having high purity is produced. <P>SOLUTION: When titanium tetrachloride is fed to a reduction vessel charged with molten magnesium and molten magnesium chloride, the titanium tetrachloride is reduced with the molten magnesium, so as to produce metal titanium. When titanium tetrachloride is successively fed, the titanium tetrachloride is reacted with the produced metal titanium, so as to produce titanium dichloride. Successively, the produced titanium dichloride is reduced with the molten magnesium, thereby producing the granular metal titanium. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
