PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem in a conventional controller for an arc welding robot wherein since circuits for emergency stop of the robot and for emergency stop of a welding machine are independently present, the circuits are redundant, and emergency stop processing and release processing are independently performed. SOLUTION: This controller comprises an inverter circuit 1 for performing arc welding, main power supply switches 2a-2c turning ON/OFF main power supplied to the inverter circuit 1, a main power supply control part 3 controlling the main power supply switches 2, and an emergency stop button 4 for emergency-stopping the operation of the robot. When emergency stop is performed by pressing the emergency stop button 4, the main power supply switches 2 are turned OFF in interlocking therewith. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
