PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical diagnostic instrument for correctly controlling the movement of a mobile part without changing the number and shape of sensors. SOLUTION: The four proximity sensors are arranged on the side surface of an image intensifier (I.I) 25 which is one of the mobile parts. The movement of the I.I 25 being the mobile part is controlled based on a distance between the proximity sensor 28 and an object represented by a subject M, or the like, and on the amount of change in the distance, so as to move the I.I 25 in consideration of the temporal change of a position such as the amount of change in the distance. Consequently, the I.I 25 is moved in response to the situation of the temporal change in the I.I 25 having the proximity sensor 28 and that of the object. Thus, the movement of the I.I 25 is correctly controlled without changing the number and shape of the sensors. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
