<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an opening device ensuring the operation of a sash according to a user's intention and dispensing with a high-power drive source. <P>SOLUTION: The opening device 100 comprises a frame body 10 with four sides, the sash 30 constituted to be laterally movable within the frame body, and a driving means 300 for driving the sash in the opening/closing direction. The sash comprises an operating part 209 held by the user's hand to open/close the sash, a sensing means 214 for sensing the operation of the operating part, and a control means 40 for controlling the driving means based on the operation of the operating part sensed by the sensing means.
