PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source and a method for fixing the light source capable of suppressing a variation of an irradiation position of light beams due to a temperature difference between the light source and a surrounding environment. SOLUTION: In the light source, the base in which a semiconductor laser and a collimator lens disposed in front of the exit face of light beams of the semiconductor laser is fixed to a fitting part at a plurality of fixing locations in a direction parallel to the disposed direction of the semiconductor laser and the collimator lens. Of the fixing locations where the base is fixed to the fitting part, at least one location can be shifted relatively in a direction perpendicular to the fixing direction of the base to the fitting part.
