<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery in which realization of high capacity and high energy density is possible, and in which a superior discharge characteristic can be obtained at discharging at a high rate. <P>SOLUTION: A positive electrode is constituted of a positive electrode mixture and a current collector, the positive electrode mixture has a positive electrode active material, a binder, and a conductive agent. A lithium-containing compound having an olivine structure is used as the positive electrode active material.
