PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly reliable manufacturing method of a color conversion substrate, whereby productivity, and quality of the substrate are heightened, and to provide the color conversion substrate having high surface smoothness. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method of the color conversion substrate to convert light emitted from an emitter to light having a longer wavelength, a process (A) to form a projecting and recessed pattern part 17 formed by forming a plurality of protuberances 12, 13 in a part of a support substrate 1, a process (B) to form a color conversion material layer 32 by applying a color conversion material to the projecting and recessed pattern part 17 and embedding the color conversion material in the recessed part 16, and a process (C) to form a color conversion film 32' in a recessed part 16 by polishing the color conversion material layer 32 formed in the process (B) at least as far as the surface of the protuberance 15, and flattening the surface of the projecting and recessed pattern part 17 are included.
