PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network facsimile machine which automatically selects a communication service utilized, by searching a plurality of usable communication services, and selects a public line and communicates. SOLUTION: The network facsimile apparatus 1 is connected with a network NW and a public line network PT, to which a DNS server 40 is connected. When a number is specified as a transmitting destination, and the public line network PT is selected in a user I/F unit 3, the number concerned is transmitted directly as the telephone number of the public line network PT. When the communication service is selected in the user I/F unit 3, the information on the usable communication service is acquired from the DNS server 40 based on the number concerned, one of the relevant communication services is automatically selected, and is then transmitted.
