<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lessen tone change of first and last printed matters of extensive number printing without largely changing tone on the way of printed matters making a part in a plurality of pages in a color image forming apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises an engine part 40 for forming color images on recording sheets, and a controller part 20 for color-correcting image data to be transmitted to the engine part by using a conversion table. The controller part 20 comprises acquiring state information of the engine part 40, correcting values of the conversion table at breaks of pages on the basis of the state information, and instructing tone regulation operation to the engine part 40 at the breaks of a set unit when performing a plurality of sets.
