<p>A device comprises a cylindrical socket 23 into which an engagement member 41 is axially slid. The engagement member 41 is held in place in the socket 23 by a plurality of retaining members 27, 28 located around the socket which are radially pressed into corresponding recesses 43 on the engagement member 41 when the controlling member 30 is operated by the solenoid 35. The assembly is used to hold open a door when activated but sufficient force on the door can be used to manually override the opener if required. Deactivation of the solenoid will allow the door to close.</p> |
