A video signal line drive circuit for a display device, in which a gradation conversion is smoothly displayed at the boundary of a display block, too, in case the gradation conversion is made in the display device by using an error diffusion method. In an error diffusion operation circuit (36) of a source driver unit (302), the error diffusion operation is performed for each pixel on the basis of not only image data (Da) of the display block of the source driver unit (302) but also the image data (Da) near the boundary between the display block of the source driver unit (302) and the display blocks of source driver units (301, 303) at the front stage and at the back stage. A video signal is created on the basis of error-diffused image data (Db) created by that error diffusion operation.
